About us:

Hand in Hand for Peace is an organization of volunteers committed to helping victims of war, regardless of their origin, by educating and taking action with the public to bring happiness to their lives.

Our History

In 2005, a number of refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo came to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to find a new life based on education, free expression, democracy and peace.

Their experiences in the Congo, a war ravaged part of Africa, provide them with a unique, first-hand view of the human costs of conflict, senseless violence and inter-ethnic strife.

The insight into the Congo conflict, its causes and its devastating effects, provides a profound connection and understanding of the mentality of war, its brutality, and the desperate need for peace in so many parts of the world. Their experiences and testimonies influenced the establishment of Hand in Hand for Peace with commitment of creating a culture of peace through education and participation in our communities.
